Art lovers will want to save the date for the upcoming Spring Studio Open House at 16th Street Studios in Racine, which is scheduled for Saturday, April 27, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free.
Located in the Racine Arts & Business Center at 1405 16th Street, the Studios are home to more than 70 artists. You’re invited to tour their studios, learn about their work, and purchase paintings, drawings, collage, pottery, photographs, and more.
The Racine Arts and Business Center is the oldest business incubator in the United States. Its Cream City brick building was constructed around 1865. In 1995, artists began occupying space in studios that boast exposed brick and beams, along with large windows. In addition, the Center also offers spaces for storage, offices, manufacturing, and assembly.
Free parking is available on the street and in the east and west lots. Enter the building on its north side at either of its two entrances, identified by canopies carrying the street address numbers 1405 and 1515.
Chit Chaat will be serving their unique delicious cuisine in the legendary on-site cafe Chez Bob’s from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
