MUSCLE CAR AND CORVETTE NATIONALS
@ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
The Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals show is truly a national treasure for us car folks, right in our own backyard. Held annually the weekend before Thanksgiving, this show focuses on the absolute best 60’s and 70’s factory stock Muscle Cars and the rarest Corvettes. With well over 500 cars on the show floor, they fill nearly 400,000 square feet of exhibit space at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont.
“We are thrilled to get back to Rosemont” stated MCACN Managing Member, Bob Ashton. Every year they put on an entirely new and fresh show. And while the primary focus will always be on good old fashioned American Muscle, there is an incredible number of unexpected treasures and some neat additional features. “We are a family friendly show, with all kinds of activities throughout the weekend” Ashton said. In addition to the cars, they have several “Shows within the Show, featuring Muscle Bicycles, like Sting Rays and Krates, and a cool gathering of vintage Mini-Bikes. A wide variety of special Invitational displays bring out the real rarities of the Muscle Car world and this year is no exception.
The Premier Unveilings kick off the event Saturday morning, with the first showing of freshly restored Muscle Cars. Anniversary displays for the years 1968 and 1973, a big Boss Ford and Mercury Invitational, Big Body Buicks, the Evolution of the Dodge Charger and the Chevy Impala and the ever-popular Barn Finds and Hidden Gems are just a few more of this year’s features.
The show is a mixed make event, so no matter what make or model you prefer, you’ll find a wide variety of cars that will stop you in your tracks. Additional special displays will spotlight the Ford GT’s, modern muscle from Chicago’s own Nickey Performance and the Vintage Certification program for unrestored originals. “We pride ourselves in presenting cars that are rarely, if ever shown that join us from across the country and Canada. Every year the show is new!” Ashton said.
Being family friendly has always been a goal, and the MCACN team offers the younger enthusiasts a variety of activities. This includes a neat Youth Judging program, a scavenger hunt, the model car “make and take”, a coloring contest and more. And Kids 12 and under always get in free!
Special Guests this year include Nascar Power Couple Natalie Decker (of Wisconsin!) and Derek Lemke, TV and Movie star David Sullivan of Small Town Wisconsin, Flaked and so much more, Peter Brock, drag racer Bruce Larson and more. Of course, MCACN Title Sponsor Mecum Auctions will have a HUGE display, and you’ll be able to meet Dana, Frank and Chris Jacobs!
Live music Saturday night, along with seminars and round table talks all weekend too. Of course, the Wicked Car Mag team will be set up, ready to check out all the great cars and to meet you.
