Paine Art Center hosts ‘Rooms of Blooms’

March 1 @ 9:00 am - 8:00 pm

Event Series Event Series (See All)

The extravagant floral show Rooms of Blooms returns to the Paine Art Center and Gardens February 29-March 3 and March 7-10. Encompassing the entire historic estate, visitors will enjoy the fresh aromas and kaleidoscopic colors of expertly designed floral arrangements embellishing every room of the mansion, along with a spectacular horticultural display in the Conservatory.

With the Paine’s upcoming exhibition, Mao Lor: A Journey through Hmoob Paj Ntaubas backdrop to the show, floral designers from all over the region create marvelous arrangements that complement each textile artwork on view in the Main Gallery.

Magnificent full-room installations lavishing the iconic Library, Dining Room, and other period rooms will delight viewers and tickle the senses with spring-like aromas and hues. In the Great Hall, designers will present opulent table settings, called tablescapes, and compete for the People’s Choice Award.

The Paine’s Curator of Horticulture will present an original, grand-scale floral experience transforming the Conservatory, where visitors may also enjoy tea or wine among the blooms at various times. Meanwhile, the Carriage House will offer learning opportunities included with admission (reservations required).

Admission to the floral show is $25 adults and $15 youth (ages 5-17) before 4:00 PM; $20 adults and $12 youth after 4:00 PM; and free for Paine Members and children 4 and under. Reservations are required.

Community First Credit Union is the Lead Sponsor of Rooms of Blooms.

About the Paine Art Center and Gardens

The Paine is a historic estate serving as a multi-faceted museum for learning and inspiration. The museum preserves the property’s historic architecture, with the mansion as the centerpiece, and many of its interiors as they were created by founders Nathan and Jessie Kimberly Paine. Selections from the museum’s art collection, much of which was acquired by Nathan and Jessie, are featured in the many rooms and settings of the estate. Outdoors, numerous display gardens act as “galleries” of horticulture with varied designs and thousands of plant specimens. The Paine presents a wide variety of changing art exhibitions, events and educational programs throughout the year. Learn more at www.thepaine.org.
