Raise a Stein to History: Oktoberfest & the 4th Annual WWI Reenactment at Old Falls Village Park

Experience the sights, sounds, and stories of the First World War at the highly anticipated Fourth Annual WWI Re-enactment event, taking place on October 10th and 11th, 2026, at Old Falls Village Park in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin. Located at N96W15791 County Line Rd., Menomonee Falls, WI, this immersive event offers a captivating journey back in time to one of the defining moments of the 20th century.

Come to Old Falls Village Park in Menomonee Falls just north of HWY 41 on Pilgrim Road on Saturday October 10th from 10 AM-5 PM and Sunday October 11th from 10 AM-4 PM.

First World War soldiers recreate life as it was during WWI with battles, weapon demonstrations and more.  Visit the Entente (Allied) and Central Powers (German) camps and talk to the soldiers about life during 1914-1918.  Our event season is winding down in October with a WWI Re-enactment event with great food, beverages, entertainment, presentations, music, vendors, artillery demonstrations, skirmishes, battle recreations and more.

What is even more exciting is that you are getting twice the entertainment as we have our Oktoberfest event combined with our WWI Reenactment.  Enjoy the German beers, atmosphere and music as the Die Freistadt Alte Kameraden Band performs on Saturday night at 6 pm with no cover charge.  The band has been a crowd favorite for years and we are so happy they are joining us again.

Attendees will have the opportunity to delve into the history and culture of the World War I era through a variety of engaging activities and experiences:

Oktoberfest:  Beer, Brats and Bands!  Come enjoy the community tradition filled with hearty food, local music, and a cheerful Bavarian atmosphere.  Come see the Dachshund Dash on Sunday for the classic fun run.  Come cheer on your favorite puppy.

Battles:  Watch an early war battle on the grounds of Old Falls Village Park at 2 pm each day.  See and hear the sounds of battle as the Central Powers and the Allied fight out both in the morning skirmish and afternoon battle.

Presentations: Gain insights into the history and impact of World War I through informative presentations and discussions led by historians and experts, who will explore various aspects of the conflict, including its causes, key events, and lasting legacy.

Live Music by Brittany and Don Duo: Listen to the lively tunes of this energetic local duo bringing bright harmonies and feel good rhythms to the Park Friday night starting at 6 pm while the Friday Fish Fry starts at 4 pm..

Vendor Booths: Explore a diverse array of military vendor booths offering a wide range of period-inspired merchandise, including military collectibles, and handcrafted goods, providing an opportunity to shop for unique souvenirs and gifts.

Scavenger Hunt and Activities for Children: Engage young historians with a scavenger hunt designed to spark their curiosity and imagination tailored to the World War I theme.  Collect all WWI themed trading cards from the event.

Food and Refreshments: Enjoy a fish fry by the Art Lounge on Friday night.  Food on Saturday and Sunday by the Art Lounge.  Dessert available all three days including Joe’s Famous Cheesecakes and Familie Bakery!

Old Falls Biergarten: Relax and unwind in the Old Falls Biergarten, where you can enjoy a refreshing drink and soak in the atmosphere of the event in a historical outdoor setting.

School Day Friday morning: calling all young historians who would love to come out to the park to learn firsthand from reenactors about life as a WWI soldier.  $3 per child, Pay in advance: www.oldfallsvillagepark.org/school-days

Oct. 10-11 – WWI event Saturday 10-5 pm and Sunday 10-4 pm

Oct. 10 – Saturday night: Oktoberfest Biergarten with 5 pm to 9 pm with Alte Kamaderan Band performing 6-9 pm (no cover charge)

Oct. 11 – Sunday Dachshund Dash and Biergarten
