Don’t miss the 37th annual Firefly Art Fair, which will take place Aug. 5-6 in the gardens of the historic Kneeland-Walker House in Wauwatosa.
Sponsored by the Wauwatosa Historical Society, the fair will feature paintings, pottery and ceramics, glass, basketry, jewelry, fiber art, mosaics, photography, pen and ink drawings, metal work, and wood.
Sixty-five artists, many of them first-time Firefly exhibitors, will participate. Many have donated pieces for a Silent Auction. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days, rain or shine.
An exhibit of glass plates and period photo equipment will also be held in the historic mansion. The plates belonged to the Lefeber family, early settlers of Wauwatosa.
Milwaukee-based singer/songwriter John Gimler, known as Johnny G., will perform acoustic guitar from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday. Cold Front Trombone Quartet will play from noon to 3 p.mm on Sunday. A sound system will provide music throughout the art fair grounds.
Meals and refreshments will be provided by Cuppa Tosa, Jojo’s Martini Lounge, and Nothing Bundt Cakes.
The Kneeland-Walker house, a Queen Anne Victorian mansion, is located at 7406 Hillcrest Drive. Admission is $10 per person and free for children ages 12 and younger. Tickets may be purchased in advance at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/firefly-art-fair-2023-tickets-634753935107.
