Please join the Badger Lapidary & Geological Society for our 53rd Rock, Mineral & Fossil Show on March 16-17 at the Craig Center, Rock County Fairgrounds, in Janesville. Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdayand 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.
We have five fantastic speakers throughout the weekend, including Dr. Rebecca Williams; Senior Scientist working with the Planetary Science Institute and NASA to research the history of water on Mars, using the Mars rovers.

Sunday, 1:00 – “Postcards from Mars,” Dr. Rebecca Williams, Senior Scientist, Planetary Science Institute
The Badger Rock Club will also hold a Mars Rover Model Contest. Models can be made out of any material (wood, metal, paper mache, Legos, etc.) and should be 2′ x 2′ or smaller. Bring it to the show on Saturday or on Sunday by 10 a.m. for judging, with pickup later in the afternoon. Include a card with your name, age/grade, phone, and email.
Prizes include signed posters and meteorites for the top entries in each age group: 4th grade and under, 5th grade through 9th grade, and 10th grade and over.
Additional highlights include kids’ games and activities; vendors in rocks, minerals, fossils, & jewelry; the largest fluorescent display in the area; and demonstrators.
