The spirit of Gemütlichkeit will be on full display as West Bend GERMANfest celebrates its 40th anniversary, welcoming thousands of visitors for four days of German culture, music, food, and community fun.

What began in 1986 as a small downtown gathering has grown into one of southeastern Wisconsin’s premier ethnic festivals. Today, GERMANfest fills Regner Park with authentic German entertainment, traditional cuisine, family-friendly activities, cultural experiences, and the warm hospitality that has made the event a beloved community tradition for four decades.
Festivalgoers can enjoy live music on multiple stages including:

There will be German food and beverages, contests, games, shopping, and activities for all ages. Whether attending for the first time or continuing a family tradition, visitors will find plenty of opportunities to celebrate the area’s rich German heritage.
Beyond the festivities, GERMANfest serves a greater purpose. As one of the largest annual fundraisers for Habitat for Humanity of Washington & Dodge Counties, proceeds from the event help support affordable homeownership opportunities and critical home repairs for local families. Every brat enjoyed, every polka danced, and every stein raised helps build stronger families, stronger neighborhoods, and a stronger community.
“GERMANfest is more than a festival—it’s a celebration of heritage, volunteerism, and community,” said festival organizers. “For 40 years, this event has brought people together while supporting a mission that helps local families build strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter.”

The festival’s success is made possible by the dedication of volunteers, sponsors, community partners, and attendees who return year after year to celebrate German traditions while investing in their community.
Visitors are encouraged to gather family and friends, don their favorite German attire, and experience the food, music, and traditions that have made West Bend GERMANfest a Wisconsin favorite for generations.
