‘Boo at the Zoo’ filled with family fun

Ghostly Greetings! The Milwaukee County Zoo invites you to enjoy a “not too spooky” Halloween! Guests are encouraged to come in costume so scarecrows, superheroes and skeletons can enjoy Boo at the Zoo, presented by Prairie Farms Dairy, Thursday, Oct. 19, through Sunday, Oct. 22, from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

A spooky good time awaits guests to Boo at the Zoo, featuring family-friendly activities including a Trick-or-Treat Trail, live pumpkin-carving demos, light shows and Creatures of the Night animal talks, plus much more! Several animal buildings will be open just for this event!

Boo at the Zoo pre-purchased tickets are required for this event and are now on sale at www.milwaukeezoo.org. Zoo Pass members save 15% with code spooky and their membership number.

The Zoo’s Halloween Activities Are a Real Treat!

  • Follow the Trick-or-Treat Trail through “Adventure Africa” with 10 different sweet spots. All candy is made with sustainable palm oil, and allergy-friendly options are also available at the specially marked teal treat stops. (Be sure to bring your own treat bags to gather your goodies, as trick-or-treat bags are not provided.)
  • Be dazzled by a light show and Halloween décor throughout the Zoo including Pirates Cove, the Candy Corn Farmer’s Market, and Spooky Hallow.
  • Stop in for a spell at Mad Science Milwaukee! Kids will surely enjoy some spooky science at several frightfully fun stations.
  • Halloween Hauntings are in store for guests when they hop aboard the North Shore Bank Safari Train turned Halloween-themed ride or the Penzeys Carousel — both are a delight at night!
  • It’s sure to be a happy howl-oween when guests learn all about our animals! The Creature of the Night talks will be complete with Halloween-themed conservation connections.
  • These animal buildings will be open for Boo at the Zoo: Aquatic & Reptile Center, Dairy Complex, Florence Mila Borchert Big Cat Country, Primates of the World, Small Mammals Building, and Sterns Family Apes of Africa. For their health and safety, outdoor animals are not viewable.
  • Eat, drink, and be scary!  A variety of food and beverages will be available for purchase throughout the Zoo.
  • See if you can make your way through our creatively crafted Haystack Maze!
  • It’ll be a “boo-tiful” night for Halloween entertainment with live music and a stilt walker!

Costumes are encouraged but are not required. Adults are welcome to wear costumes — please remember this is a family-friendly event, and we ask that all costumes are appropriate for small children and are merry, not scary.

Boo at the Zoo will be held rain or shine. Tickets are nonrefundable and honored only for the specific evening for which they were purchased. Parking is included in the ticket price — a $15 value.
