The Milwaukee County Zoo is set to offer some egg-cellent fun to guests on Saturday, April 19, with its annual Egg Day, sponsored by Racine Danish Kringles. Spring-themed activities will take over the Zoo from 9:30 a.m. – 3 p.m., all included with Zoo admission unless otherwise noted.
The day’s highlights include:
- Start your Zoo journey off right with your own set of bunny ears, provided at the main entrance.
- Play along with Egg Day Spring Bingo. Stop at the Penguins of the Pacific habitat to pick up a bingo card and mark spaces as you see items around the Zoo. Once you have a bingo, return your card for a prize!
- Catch the Bunny Parade, featuring our furry friend, at one of its three expeditions: 10:30 a.m., Noon and 1:30 p.m., beginning and ending at Macaque Island.
- Participate in a special Egg Hunt. Count the animal print eggs hidden along the trail and receive a special treat.
- Multiple animal enrichment demonstrations are scheduled throughout the Zoo, specially themed for this fun-filled day.
- 10 a.m. – Pigs (Northwestern Mutual Family Farm
- 11 a.m. – Big Cats
- 11:30 a.m. – Harbor Seals
- Noon – Otters
- 1 p.m. – Elephants
Additional activities include complimentary face painting, three special festive photo opportunities, Chalk the Zoo by adding flower designs on the garden path at the Elephant Care Center, and Dixie-land jazz from the popular group, Razzmatazz, in the U.S. Bank Gathering Place.
As always, the Bunny Eggxpress, or the North Shore Bank Safari Train, will be running, weather permitting. (Fee: $4/per person, plus tax)
Zoological Society membership is valid for Egg Day. Registration is not required.
