Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) Celebration

Día de los Muertos is a joyful celebration of life that takes place each November 1st and 2nd. Students from the surrounding community will be creating traditional ofrendas (offerings made in honor of loved ones) in the Desert Dome. The entire Desert Dome will be decorated in celebration of the holiday.

In addition, the event will have a Mariachi band, Día de los Muertos dancers, local food and art vendors, as well as an opportunity for attendees to make crafts to celebrate the holiday in their own homes.

All proceeds benefit Friends of the Domes, a private nonprofit that provides cultural enrichment and educational programming on behalf of the Mitchell Park Horticultural Conservatory.
