POP! Goes 3 Decades Live Concert With Steve March-Torme & Friends
February 10 @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Remember what you forgot about the ‘60s, ‘70s, and ‘80s! Join Steve March-Torme & Friends in a lively and upbeat performance of classic pop songs at the Jensen Community Center Theater in Amherst on Saturday, Feb. 10. The showcase will include familiar tunes by The Beatles, James Taylor, Cat Stevens, The Band, Elton John, Eric Clapton, Hall & Oates, Stevie Wonder, and more.
Come early to begin the night with a reception at 6 p.m., sweet and savory small bites for purchase provided by The Landmark Coffee House and a cash bar, including retro soda pop, sold by the Jensen Community Center. Doors to the theater open at 6:30 p.m. and the show starts at 7 p.m.
March-Torme will be joined by Ken Skitch, a talented trombonist and arranger, who is also a member of the celebrated HDHorns ensemble. Named Best Drummer multiple years by WAMI (Wisconsin Area Musicians Industry), Mike Underwood will also take the stage. And Michael Murphy, a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter, who just released a solo album, “Indigo Jones”, rounds out the group.
The musicians are all a part of the Fox Valley-based group, STEEM, and have been touring Wisconsin and nearby states with SOLD OUT performances in a run of holiday concerts each year called, “For Kids From 1 to 92”, a line taken from Mel Tormé’s (March-Tormé’s father) tune, “The Christmas Song”.
“POP! Goes 3 Decades!” will be a lively and nostalgic show, leaving you with a spring in your step and feeling 10 years younger on a mid-winter night in February. Advance reserved tickets are on sale now at jensencommunitycenter.ticketspice.com/pop through Feb. 10 at 11 a.m. Any remaining tickets will be sold for $25 at the door.
