Jefferson swap meet & car show celebrates 46 years

By Erik Esse of Madison Classics

Car shows are a way to reconnect with the past. In this world full of electronic tweets, posts, blogs and links, we forget how much fun it was in the past to interact with people who shared similar interests in classic cars.

The Jefferson car show seems to stretch for a mile. It brings people together.

When we meet face-to-face, our passion for cars and car shows makes us feel like we’re part of a culture. This is the foundation behind our Madison Classic shows at Jefferson, Wis. We strive to create venues that celebrate history, heritage and our car culture.

“Car Guys” love checking out coupes with chromed-up Hemi V-8s together.

It’s fun to share this culture with our family and friends to keep this vibrant tradition alive. We at Madison Classics extend a grateful “thank you” to the patrons who have supported us for 46 years. It has been our honor to provide you with an event that supports this culture we all love.

New for Spring Jefferson 2023 is a Sunday afternoon demolition derby.

Spring brings the 46th Annual Spring Jefferson Swap Meet & Car Show on April 28-30 at Jefferson County Fair Park in Jefferson, Wis. This year’s featured cars for spring are Ford Mustangs. Some special ones will be on display in the main Activity Center Building. Check out others in front of the building.

Mustangs will be featured inside and outside the main fairgrounds building.

There’s a Swap Meet and Car Corral all three days and a car show on Saturday and Sunday. Gates open Friday 10:00 am–5:00 pm, Saturday 6:00 am.–4:00 pm and Sunday 6:00 am–3:00 pm. All makes and models can participate in the car show.

Proving the car hobby is fun is an “engine dress-up kit” seen at Jefferson 2017.

New for 2023 is a Hollywood Motorsports LLC, Demolition Derby on April 24 at noon. Show admission is $15 Friday and Saturday; $10 Sunday with free parking included. No pets are permitted on the fairgrounds. For more information, visit us online at www.madisonclassics.com or call 1-608-244-8416.
